Who We Are
Our winery was founded in Castiglione Tinella in the late 19th century, in the Langhe region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Simone represents the fourth generationof a family of winemakers and resumed winemaking with the 2014 harvest.
The company is very small: 5.5 hectareson one of the highest hills in the country, described by Cesare Pavesein "The Moon and the Bonfires." The Manzotti vineyard, where our Moscatos are grown, faces south/southeast, with a 40% slope. Here, all work is done entirely by hand, without the use of chemical weed killers. This type of agriculture is called " heroic viticulture": in these vineyards, the labor hours required are approximately three times those of a normal vineyard.
To date, we are the only ones to use the term "vigna" on the label in Castiglione Tinella and among the very few in the entire production area, which includes 51 municipalities.
We have a 1.5 ha Nebbiolo d'Alba vineyard in the town of Diano d'Alba and a small Freisa vineyard in Castiglione Tinella
Since 2021, we have been members of FIVI(Italian Federation of Independent Winemakers) and are certified for environmental sustainability by the SQPNI (Scientific Quality Assurance) certification program, recognized at European level.
